Founded in Helsinki in 1836 by Victor Hartwall as the first mineral water factory of the Nordic countries; the long drink from 1952. Became a brewer by buying Karjala (1966), Aura (1971), Lapin Kulta of Tornio (1980–1981) and Mallasjuoma of Lahti (1988). Scottish & Newcastle from 2002, Heineken from 2008, Royal Unibrew since July 2013. All brewing in Lahti since the Tornio brewery closed in 2010. unverified info
