France Founded on 9 June 1664, when Jérôme Hatt took the Canon brewery in Strasbourg. Moved to the Cronenbourg quarter in 1862; the Kronenbourg name was registered in 1947. The Obernai brewery (K2) was built at the end of the 1960s. Part of BSN (Danone) from 1970, merged with Société européenne de brasserie in 1986, sold to Scottish & Newcastle in 2000 and part of Carlsberg since 2008.
