How it works
Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd. was set up on 4 August 1933 by Phraya Bhirom Bhakdi (Boonrawd Sreshthaputra) and is the first brewery in Thailand; Singha, Golden Kite and Stupa went on sale on 6 July 1934, and the royal Garuda warrant came on 25 October 1939. The 1933 and the 1967 brewhouses stand on the Samsen Road compound in Bangkok, where brewing stopped in 2001 and the old plant is now the Singha Museum. The founder's descendants, the Bhirombhakdi family, still run the company, which launched the Leo lager in June 1998 and also makes Singha Light and other brands. In 2024 Singha and Leo together held about 62-63% of the Thai beer market. unverified info
