Founded by Mark Gordon, who worked in the City, with the brewer Derek Prentice; it opened in July 2015, in time for the tennis championships, on a 30-barrel plant in a unit on Prince George's Road. Its beers recall the first Wimbledon brewery, started by William Cook in 1832 and burned on 2 January 1889: Quartermaine IPA is named after William Quartermaine, who built its tower. unverified info
