How it works
Founded in 1996 by Demetri Politopoulos, a Greek American chemical engineer, to brew a beer with a Greek name; the brewery in the Komotini industrial area was finished in 1997 and Vergina Premium Lager came out in February 1998, followed by Vergina Red (2001) and Weiss (2003). Its own maltings, Thracian Malt, the first in Greece outside the Athenian Brewery, was finished in 2013 and doubled in 2017; a second brewery went into operation in 2024–2025. unverified info
