How it works
Florida Ice and Farm Company was founded in 1908 at La Florida de Siquirres (Limón) by the four Lindo Morales brothers, born in Jamaica, to farm and make ice for the banana ships. In 1912 it bought the Cervecería y Refresquería Traube of San José, whose Pilsen goes back to 1888, and in 1957 the Ortega brewery with Imperial (1924) and Bavaria; it took over Cervecería Tropical in 1988. Its beer arm is known as Cervecería Costa Rica. Imperial, Pilsen, Bavaria, Rock Ice, Kaiser. unverified info
