How it works
The Sindos brewery by Thessaloniki grew out of Henninger Hellas, set up in 1968–1970 for the German Henninger beer in Greece. The Boutari group bought it in 1992 and renamed it Northern Greece Brewery in 1994; Mythos lager came out in 1997 and the company took the name Mythos Brewery in 2000–2001. Scottish & Newcastle bought 47% in 2002 and 68% in 2004; with the break-up of S&N in 2008 it passed to Carlsberg. In 2014–2015 it was merged with Olympic Brewery (1490) under the Olympic name; Mythos is still brewed at Sindos. unverified info
