## About

Joseph Holt began brewing in 1849 in rented space behind a pub on Oak Street in Manchester, moved to the Ducie Bridge Brewery in 1855, and in 1860 took a 999-year lease on the Derby Brewery site in Cheetham, which the firm still uses. It has been in the same family for six generations and has about 127 to 135 pubs in Greater Manchester.
